Overview
Exciting opportunity to join the clinical nurse specialist in Wirral within the Haematology team caring for out patients and in patients. The role includes undertaking independent nurse-led clinics, performing bone marrow biopsies, prescribing and administering chemotherapy. You will be a valuable and active member of the haematology MDT, acting as a link nurse for consultants and supporting patients through the pathway. You will undertake Holistic Needs Assessments at various stages of the patient pathway and obtain consent to chemotherapy treatment. The post leads the development, management and promotion of the service to ensure delivery of high-quality, cost-effective care. Working with the MDT, you will lead the implementation of personalised care in line with the National cancer strategy. You will apply advanced knowledge and insights from stakeholders and patient experiences to lead service redesign, stimulate innovative practice, implement improvements and ensure services meet patient needs. You will promote person-centred care and co-create care with people affected by cancer, using information from local and national cancer patient experience surveys to influence and improve the service.
Responsibilities
* Collates and records quantitative and qualitative data to provide evidence of productivity, outcomes and quality, through audit and research.
* Ensure compliance with Quality Surveillance Programme (QSP) measures including annual report and operational policy.
