Ashford (Kent)
Surrey County Council
Occupational therapist
Posted: 19 August
Offer description

We are a professional team comprising Social Care and Occupational Therapy Assistants, Social Workers, and Occupational Therapists, committed to learning and development at both individual and team levels.

About the Role

No two days are the same. This diverse role requires professional experience in assessing for major adaptations, specialised equipment, and completing moving and handling risk assessments. Our goal is to support residents in living meaningful lives within the community, embodying the essence of occupational therapy.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will conduct holistic assessments of social care needs and plan support across a dedicated caseload. You will work closely with families, carers, and care workers to support individuals from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of needs.

We offer regular monthly supervision and informal support from the wider team. Surrey County Council is preparing for Local Government Reorganisation, which will consolidate services into fewer unitary councils by April 2027, at which point this role will transfer with all terms and conditions intact.

Join our dynamic team to help shape the future of local government, making a lasting impact with innovative solutions and improved community services.

Team Recognition

Our occupational therapists are well recognized within our team, enabling us to fully utilise our skills to achieve positive outcomes focused on individual priorities. We are proud that the Reigate & Banstead Locality Team has won a prestigious LGC Workforce Award for 'Smart Working' in Occupational Therapy, highlighting our impactful 'Five Steps' programme and SWOT approach, which has garnered interest across the UK.
