Salary and Working Hours
Starting salary: £37,375 for a 39‑hour week (including 20% unsocial allowance). After initial 37‑hour training, you may choose 37, 39, or 41 hour weeks. Annual salaries: 37 hrs – £33,746; 39 hrs – £35,875; 41 hrs – £38,003.

Qualifications and Requirements
* At least 18 years old
* Meet Civil Service nationality requirements
* Pass a medical and fitness assessment (physically active job)
* Meet required eyesight standards in both eyes (with or without corrective lenses)
* Meet suitable hearing standard (no hearing aids)
* DBS check required
* Tattoos are permitted if not offensive, discriminatory, violent or intimidating; facial tattoos generally not acceptable unless for cultural, religious or medical reasons
Responsibilities
Atypical to a prison officer, the role focuses on supporting children and young people in custody. Key duties include:
* Interventions when required
* Overseeing and facilitating safe movement around the site
* Providing supervision to ensure safety
