Main duties of the job
As a Lead Nurse (each region has between 2-5 Lead Nurses), you will support the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services within the Organ Donation Organisation. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Monitoring and managing the delivery of Key Performance Indicators to maximise the number of organs and tissues donated within your geographical area.
2. Sharing responsibility for operational management of all aspects of the Organ Donation Services team within your area.
3. Managing a team of staff, with duties allocated on a rotational basis within the service management team; including managing the full area budget and overseeing a 24-hour on-call service.
4. Providing input and challenge to hospital development planning and leading corrective actions; ensuring national strategies are implemented and evaluated locally.
5. Operational management of staff within your delegated area of responsibility.
You will be required to participate in a 24/7 on-call rota and maintain clinical credibility by staying current in all aspects of organ donation.

Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential):
* Registered Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration (maintained), as a Registered Nurse Adult or Paediatric Nurse.
* Relevant degree or equivalent in allied health or related field, or equivalent job-related experience.
* Postgraduate specialist experience in leadership and management.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development (CPD).
* Valid UK driving license.
Experience (Essential):
* Proven leadership and management experience in an acute hospital setting relevant to donation, such as ICU, theatres, or emergency department.
* Recent experience working within the Organ Donation Service as a SN-OD.
* Awareness of current issues and developments in co-ordination, nursing, and NHS.
* Ability to evaluate clinical practice safety and effectiveness.
* Experience implementing change within teams and organizations.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office or equivalent systems.
