Job Overview Seeking a consultant anaesthetist for a 0.75- 0.8 FTE permanent position in one of the South Island's most sought after locations. Position Highlights 40 hour working week On call rota participation join a team of 16 experienced and supportive SMO colleagues. 140 bed secondary care hospital scope of practice: participate in the anaesthetic roster, covering: planned care and acute theatre sessions, anaesthesia after-hours on call support, anaesthetic pre-assessment clinics and working as the duty anaesthetist. provide support to other departments including: obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, ENT, ophthalmology and Dental. provide anaesthesia for visiting subspecialty surgeons in paediatric surgery. Supervise and participate in teaching of junior medical workforce Professional Requirements FANZCA or equivalent specialist qualification Eligible for vocational or provisional vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand Experience in paediatric anaesthesia desirable Remuneration Package Salary (ASMS scale depending upon experience) superannuation at 6% 6 weeks annual leave 12 days public holidays 10 days study leave plus NZD16K pa for expenses generous relocation package - be reimbursed a competitive relocation, accommodation, and car rental expenses Location: The Nelson Marlborough region This region, located at the summit of the South Island in Aotearoa, New Zealand, is spectacular.
