<div><h3>Overview</h3><p>Applications from doctors who require a Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcomed and will be considered alongside all EU and UK trained doctors. Successful applicants will receive the relevant paperwork upon appointment.</p><p>The hospital offers an excellent starting salary (dependent on experience) with pay enhancements for overtime, shift and out of hours work. The expected working week is 39 hours, with overtime opportunities as required. As a Senior House Officer, you will work closely with junior doctors, registrar doctors and Consultants within your department. You must maintain liaison with colleagues on duty immediately before and after you to ensure adequate communication and continuity of patient care, instruct nursing staff in patient care, and communicate necessary information to other departments.</p><h3>Duties</h3><ul><li>To provide safe and effective care of patients.</li><li>You will have delegated responsibility for all patients under the care of the Consultant to whom you are attached at the time, and for patients of all Consultants when undertaking emergency cover or when other SHOs are off duty.</li><li>Refer to the Consultants when problems arise beyond your authority or experience, and oversee and advise the House Officers.</li><li>Apply specialist knowledge and skills across a range of impairments, procedures and practices gained through practical experience, underpinned by theoretical knowledge.</li><li>Maintain continuing responsibility for patient care and department functioning.</li><li>Provide diagnosis and treatment for all categories of patients in the department.</li><li>Actively participate in staff meetings, forums and development programmes to support service development and maintain high‑quality care, and keep yourself up‑to‑date with relevant practise requirements and demonstrate this to the satisfaction of the hospital, trust and GMC.</li></ul><h3>Study Leave & Professional Development</h3><p>Professional or study leave is granted for purposes approved by the trust and includes time off for study, research, teaching, examining, visiting clinics external to the hospital, and attending professional conferences. Study leave allowance is a maximum of 10 days per annum.</p><p>The trust supports the requirements for continuing professional development as set down by the Royal Colleges and is committed to providing time and financial support for these activities, including GMC Revalidation.</p><h3>Essential Requirements</h3><ul><li>IELTS or OET (overall score 7.5 or OET Grade B) for IMGs.</li><li>Ability to act as part of a team.</li><li>GMC Registration Essential (General Medical Council) – guidance can be provided if needed.</li><li>Ability to cope with a varying workload.</li><li>Discharge via DBS Disclosure (and other checks) required for staff with access to children or vulnerable adults.</li></ul><h3>Salary</h3><p>£37,068 to £57,650 per annum, based on the national salary scale as outlined in the Medical & Dental Terms / Conditions.</p></div>
