Method Resourcing are partnered with a high‑quality financial services organisation undergoing a period of change, growth, and integration. They’re strengthening their data function and are now looking for a Data Scientist who can blend strong technical capability with exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement.
You’ll be joining a mature, well‑respected team led by an incredibly charismatic and supportive Lead Data Scientist, with three other data scientists, an ML Engineer, and other data professionals alongside you.
The role: You’ll work closely with a wide-range of clients that vary from technologists but also non-technologists. These are your internal clients, not external customers, but absolutely people who need clarity, relevance, and accessible storytelling. Your work won’t involve production‑level data engineering; that sits firmly with the Data Engineering team. Your value is in modelling, analytics, experimentation, and helping the business understand what the data actually means. You’ll also mentor less experienced members of the team, particularly those recently promoted, focusing on code reviews and professional development.
This is a role with breadth, more varied than positions in large corporates but not as chaotic as a start‑up. Perfect for someone comfortable operating with autonomy in a mid‑sized organisation while navigating an environment that’s evolving through ongoing integration with a larger group.
What we’re looking for:
* Strong practical data science background: Python, modelling, analytics, experimentation
* Experience in deploying models
* Excellent communication skills - able to explain technical concepts to mixed audiences
* Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
* Comfortable in mid‑sized environments where breadth and adaptability are key
* Experience translating analytical outputs into business impact
* Experience with coaching and mentoring less experienced colleagues
* A collaborative approach, especially in environments undergoing transformation
