Job Title: Support Worker Learning Disabilities and Mental Health
This is an Alternative Schooling Provision catering to young adults aged 5-19 with various SEN, including Mental Health, Complex Needs, and Autism.
Your role will involve supporting the class teacher, support staff, and multi-agency teams to devise learning and care plans, and to encourage the child/young person to reach their full potential.
You will be required to set clear boundaries and manage triggers of challenging behaviour while supporting the child academically, emotionally, and socially.
Children at this school have multiple complex and sensory needs. Support workers looking to be trained as Teaching Assistants/Cover Supervisors are encouraged to apply.
Graduates interested in working with SEN are also encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate:
* Experience working within an educational setting is not required; however, experience working with young people in a support setting is desired.
* Experience working with challenging behaviour within an education, residential, or support setting.
* Possess a clear Enhanced DBS registered with the update service (we can provide details on how to start a new application).
* Ability to provide a full career history and two referees.
