Were looking for a proactive and customer-focused sales support professional to join our internal Merchant Sales team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building strong relationships, and is passionate about delivering outstanding service to both customers and colleagues.
As the first point of contact for incoming and outbound calls and email enquiries, youll play a key role in supporting our Area Sales Managers and business clients. Youll manage a wide range of sales office functions, coordinate technical and logistical support, and help drive performance through targeted marketing and CRM activity.
Responsibilities and duties will include, but not limited to:
Respond promptly to inbound calls and email enquiries on the client line
Assist with quotes, sample requests, haulage coordination, pack/load confirmations and stock availability
Manage site registrations and stock reservations
Schedule appointments and support trade day planning
Collaborate with marketing and ASMs to organise display materials
Coordinate special blend requests and provide technical assistance
Monitor CRM system and proactively contact branches to optimise stock levels
Engage merchants to promote products, arrange ASM visits, and deliver product training
Drive sales of high-stock items and support targeted promotional campaigns
Work towards achieving and exceeding monthly sales goals
Maintain accurate records including site registrations, quotes, project updates, and sample logs
Generate and manage reports such as opportunity trackers and contact lists for marketing outreach
Support marketing initiatives through mailshots and campaign coordination
Develop stock profiles and proposals
Assist in onboarding and training new team members
Manage shared inboxes and distribute sales communications
Attend off-site meetings, trade events, and accompany ASMs when needed
Participate in stock audits and inventory checks
Skills and Experience
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
Confident using CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools
A team player with a proactive and customer-first attitude
Previous experience in sales support, customer service, or a similar role is desirable
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
High attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Professional telephone manner
Ability to work well in a busy, fast-paced environment
Full driving licence and access to own transport (essential due to location)
