The role of the OHN within AITC is one which provides excellent opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders and specialists within the training arena. The clinical workload will be varied, including but not limited to OH advice, clinical OH support to BT and ITT, including caseload management for all trainees, governance, audit and support to policy reviews. The nature of the OHN within AITC incorporates change as part of the role, including reviewing work processes and polices as part of regular work activities. Developing and maintaining Key Performance Indicators for the OH team is important to optimise the candidate experience and journey to joining and training in the Army. The clinical OH support to training includes but not limited to advice, discharges, caseload management, review of cases to provide advice on appropriateness of Private Health Care Pathway, medical waivers, governance activities including audit and policy updates. Your role is to support the occupational management of candidates from point of application to basic training (BT) and through their Individual Trade Training (ITT). We deliver this by supporting both Capita and our colleagues within the primary health care setting with specialist OH advice. Key responsibilities: Occupational review of downgraded personnel at the point of downgrading. Reviews to be prioritised as directed by the Chain of Command. Occupational review of the progression of case management of downgraded personnel. Occupational review of personnel referred to the medical branch by the Employer or by other Healthcare Professionals. Advice to the Chain of Command on individuals occupational employability and deployability within the scope of their professional practice. Advise on application of gradings within the scope of their professional practice. Recommendations on when personnel are to be referred for further OH interventions including full medical board or retain/discharge processes. Advice to the Chain of Command on general occupational employability and deployability. Specialist OH advice on the transfer of Service Personnel from BT to ITT and also from ITT to Field Army within the scope of their professional practice. Advice to Primary Care on relevant OH policy.
