Advert Project Assistant (Fixed Term) Dumfries £13,873.33 - £14,800 You will be required to work 16 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year. The Poverty and Inequalities Team are recruiting a Project Assistant who will be responsible for assisting with the coordination of a number of projects including our Free School Uniform Project and our Free Warm Winter Clothes Project. You will have experience of coordinating projects and the ability to work in partnership with stakeholders and other Council Services. We are looking for someone with excellent organisational skills and the ability to forward plan a number of events over a short period of time. This post will include being hands on with the project- transporting volunteers, collecting donations, sorting clothes with volunteers and be present at the events- you need to be willing to roll your sleeves up alongside our volunteers. This post is for a fixed term for six months and the successful candidate must be willing to work weekends and evenings if required. Travel across the Region will be required to deliver events. This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post. This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council. Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
