Transport Operator –
4on 4off, Days

At Gregory Distribution, we are currently seeking a Transport Operator for our customer site in Bristol. This position will be working within the transport team and will involve all aspect of the transport administration processes and coordination of the day to day running of this busy contract.
The position of Transport Operator involves:
1. Assist the Transport Manager to manage and motivate the transport team to ensure that staff and assets are used effectively to attain maximum performance in terms of commercial contract efficiency, profit and client service levels.
2. Provide leadership of day to day transport issues, including dispatch debrief and work in progress.
3. You will also be required to work closely with our customer to ensure the smooth running of the operation as a whole.
4. Managing and de-briefing drivers.
5. Maximise the use of resources within the operation by utilising assets to the full and planning ahead.
6. Provide regular reports to the Transport Manager on customer related and other relevant matters, making recommendations where relevant.
7. Monitoring and auditing Health and Safety.
8. Answering all queries via email, phone and face to face.
9. Assisting in production of KPI’s and daily statistics.
10. Assist with compliance planning in line with company procedure.
11. Direct assistance and support for breakdowns.
12. Promoting and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and offering support and assistance in your role as a team member.
Essential skills required for Transport Operator:
13. Experience of working in a similar role is preferred.
14. Ability to communicate at all levels.
15. Strong geographical knowledge of the UK.
16. Excellent organisational skills and prioritising workload.
17. Attention to detail.
18. Working to deadlines.
19. Solution driven and Flexible approach to your work.
20. Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
21. MS packages to include, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Desirable skills for Transport Operator:
22. International CPC.
