EQUANS is seeking a skilled Mobile Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer to join our growing South of England team. In this dynamic and mobile role, you'll be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and supporting building services across a range of client sites. About the Role
As a Mobile M&E Engineer, youll play a key part in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all building services plant and systems. Youll deliver both planned and reactive maintenance, attend breakdowns, and provide professional, timely support to clients. With a strong background in both electrical and mechanical systems, youll be equipped to diagnose, repair, and, when necessary, supervise third-party contractor work across a wide portfolio.
Youll also be a key contributor to site compliance and safety, working with CAFM systems and ensuring full adherence to EQUANS high standards in health, safety, and environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out scheduled PPMs and reactive maintenance tasks on M&E systems
2. Diagnose faults and perform repairs or replacements across plant and equipment
3. Respond to emergency breakdowns, including participation in an on-call rota
4. Supervise and manage third-party contractor work when required
5. Ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards are consistently met
6. Maintain accurate records via CAFM systems and electronic reporting tools
7. Provide input into condition and dilapidation reports
8. Liaise effectively with clients, ensuring excellent customer service
9. Support SHEQ requirements, including accurate and timely incident reporting
What Were Looking For
Essential:
10. Recognised apprenticeship (EITB/CITB) or relevant technical qualifications
11. City & Guilds or equivalent in electrical/mechanical disciplines
12. 18th Edition Electrical Certification
13. Broad experience with M&E services in commercial or corporate environments
14. Familiarity with CAFM systems
15. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
16. Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics
17. L8 Awareness (Legionella control)
18. Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
19. Health and Safety qualifications (NEBOSH / IOSH)
20. Experience working with multiple manufacturer systems and equipment
