Job Summary
This post is ideal for a doctor with MRCP seeking to establish a career in any of the medical specialties. It is suitable for those between core medical and higher training, looking for a career break, or a higher specialist trainee interested in Medical Education as an Out of Programme for Experience.
Main duties of the job
1. Deliver ward-based general medicine teaching on the FFP Junior Medicine Course (Year 3), AP1 Integrated Medicine (Year 4), and AP2 (Senior Medicine course Year 5) across both the City and QMC Campus.
2. Provide reasonable cover for other Clinical Teaching Fellows as appropriate, and vice versa.
3. Contribute to revision and remediation courses.
4. Contribute to clinical assessments, including DOPS and Mini-CEX, during the clinical course.
5. Contribute to Patient and Simulated Patient Workshops.
6. Assist in the induction of FFP, AP1, and AP2 students.
7. Teach on the Early Clinical Experience Course.
8. Assist with formal examinations, including OSCEs, and contribute to exam question writing. Provide one-to-one tutoring and support for students re-sitting exams.
9. Strategically contribute to the evolution of teaching methods for all groups.
10. Support teaching across the clinical course as needed.
11. Collaborate with the Undergraduate Manager and fellow Fellows to develop innovative teaching methods.
12. Undertake projects to support personal learning and departmental improvement.
