Doncaster Children’s Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Fostering Panel Manager to lead and manage our Fostering Panel service. This is a key role, ensuring high standards of decision‑making, governance, and quality assurance in line with fostering regulations and best practice. As Fostering Panel Manager, you will be responsible for the effective operation and development of the Fostering Panel, ensuring robust, timely, and child‑focused recommendations. You will work closely with senior leaders, panel members, agency decision‑makers, and operational teams to support the recruitment, assessment, approval, review, and retention of foster carers. This is an exciting opportunity to influence strategy, champion quality, and ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people in Doncaster. Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee the efficient and compliant operation of the Fostering Panel Ensure panel recommendations meet statutory requirements, regulations, and guidance Recruit, develop, and support panel members, including chairs and professional advisors Provide advice on fostering legislation, policy, and best practice Lead quality assurance, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement Build effective working relationships with internal teams and external partners You will be a confident and experienced with: A recognised social work qualification and current Social Work England registration Significant experience within fostering services and/or fostering panels Strong leadership, organisational, and decision‑making skills A sound understanding of fostering legislation, standards, and safeguarding requirements The ability to influence practice and drive service improvement The post will be based at Civic Office, Doncaster.
