Overview
Senior UI Designer - Support - Customer role at Tesco. We’re looking for a passionate, skilled and bold Senior UI Designer to join our multidisciplinary team. You’ll craft experiences that help millions of people shop better, balance business objectives with user expectations, and iterate quickly to improve the customer journey. You’ll work with a diverse team of UX/UI designers, researchers, UX writers, service designers, data and analytics experts, product managers and developers. You’ll leverage Tesco’s Digital Design System to shape user journeys.

Responsibilities
* Design the UI for large and small multi-platform projects from start to finish, redefining complicated experiences into simple and intuitive UI solutions.
* Own all end-to-end UI process activities including interaction design discovery, trend identification and analysis, sketching, wire-framing, prototyping and delivering ready-for-build design files.
* Collaborate with UX designers, researchers, UX writers, engineers, product managers, data analysts and business partners to explore, build and deliver designs.
* Champion human-centred design inside and outside of the team.
* Work within and across agile squads to design, develop and improve the customer experience across digital products.
* Partner with UX researchers to develop empathy for customers, including those with disabilities, and advocate for their needs; validate designs via testing (A/B, usability testing, etc.).
* Collaborate with engineering teams to assess feasibility and review implementation at key development milestones.
* Partner with analytics to advise on design decisions.
* Facilitate workshops and participatory design sessions.
* Promote inclusive design practices and deliver accessible designs.
* Deliver high-quality, consistent work using the Digital Design System and its components and patterns.
* Collaborate with the design system team to evolve the Digital Design System based on user needs.
* Help other fields understand the value of design in building best products.
* Continuously seek to improve design processes to gain efficiency and simplify workflows.
* Provide feedback to other designers to strengthen the team and Tesco as a whole.
* Support teammates in building expertise, decision-making skills and customer empathy.
* Embrace opportunities to line-manage other designers and contribute to their development.
* Work with the Design Manager to cultivate a positive, supportive and inclusive team culture.
Requirements
* 5+ years of UI design experience.
* Exceptional UI design skills, including interaction design.
* A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise across web, responsive and native apps.
* Experience on high-profile design projects in a customer-facing commercial environment.
* Proficiency with the latest versions of Figma.
* Knowledge of current design and prototyping tools and technologies.
* Proficiency in accessible design and WCAG 2.1 AA.
* Understanding of end-to-end iterative design process.
* Passion for solving problems while balancing all facets of the user experience.
* Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams.
* Self-motivation and good organizational and time-management skills.
