Support Worker with interest in Music, Playing the Guitar and Pool Job Type: Part-time Salary: £14.00 per hour Do you like classic rock music, playing the guitar and playing pool? We are seeking to recruit a support worker with a keen interest in music, as well as engaging with the local community, to work with our male client in the Bewdley area. Our client has an acquired brain injury and is looking for someone to assist him to pursue his interests in the community. While experience in supporting people with disabilities may be helpful it is not essential as life experience and aptitude is also important to fulfil this role. You will need an ability to get on with people as well as a positive and pro-active approach, good problem solving skills and a good sense of humour. You will also need access to a vehicle that you can use to take the client out and about in the community and be willing to have business cover on your motor insurance policy. Hours: 18 per week To be delivered as agreed, largely between 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday but with the need to be flexible and work some evenings/weekends as required. Candidate Responsibilities You will be responsible for: Supporting our client to access the community and engage in activity that he enjoys including playing the guitar, his interest in all things musical and playing pool. Supporting our client to explore new interests and activities and social, craft and recreational opportunities. Working with the case manager to providing support with cognitive and behavioural needs Assisting with development of skills of independent living Close liaison with family and case manager You will be provided with appropriate training prior to commencing work with our client and you will be closely supported by our case manager. Candidate Experience: Relevant activity related to music, guitar playing (Essential) Relevant Community based support work (Desirable but not essential) Attributes: Full UK Driving Licence Required and access to a vehicle Willing to use own Vehicle to transport client (Business Insurance needed) Confident and competent Resilient and able to work under pressure An effective communicator with good written and verbal skills Willing to take ownership for the delivery of quality support and demonstrate leadership qualities Legally entitled to work in the UK All applicants must be willing to undergo the appropriate screening.
