We are seeking an experienced Procurement specialist to manage our strategic procurement function across Eric Wright Group. This role will consolidate our buying power and drive value improvements through strong supply chain relationships.
What You’ll Do
Develop and implement a documented procurement and supply chain strategy; create, manage and deliver a strategic action plan for Group procurement; measure and evaluate departmental performance through regular baselining.
Responsibilities include:
1. Continue to professionalise procurement as a valued Group function across the Eric Wright Group
2. Overview and management of Group-wide, external supplier expenditure (incl. direct goods & materials, plant & equipment and site services)
3. Develop and implement a documented procurement & supply chain strategy, in conjunction with internal business leaders
4. Create and manage a strategic action plan, prioritised to identify short, medium and long-term procurement opportunities outlining proposed areas of improvement and measurable cost and process efficiencies
5. Lead, manage, develop and support a lean and effective procurement team with clear objectives and targets
6. Develop strategic relationships with key suppliers & create a common view of EWG within our supply chain
7. Supply chain management (engagement, evaluation, appointment / contracts / agreements and associated ongoing supplier performance reviews and metrics)
8. Internal business relationship management including liaison with divisional managers, feedback on preferred suppliers, sharing of relevant industry news & best practice and adding intelligence to site-led purchasing
What You’ll Bring
9. Experienced senior procurement professional with MCIPS or similar qualification.
10. Experience in either Construction, Utilities, Civil Engineering, House building or Facilities Management.
11. Strategy development

13. Executive and senior management engagement and influencing
14. Strategic sourcing, Tender & Project Management
15. Supply chain management, Supplier relationship & performance management
16. First-rate commercial negotiation skills.
17. Strong IT skills and working experience of Microsoft applications.
18. Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
