Reporting to the Director, with regular Board exposure, we’re seeking an experienced and commercially focused Head of Online Trade to lead and accelerate our client’s online revenue growth across all digital channels. This is a senior, high-impact role for a strategic e-commerce leader who thrives on data, performance optimisation, and delivering measurable results.
You’ll take full ownership of the online trading strategy, budget, and performance, working closely with internal teams and specialist agencies to unlock sustainable, profitable growth.
Role: Head of Online Trade
Location: Biggleswade (Hybrid – minimum 3 days per week in office)
Salary: £50,000 to £70,000 (dependent on experience)
Contract: Permanent. Full Time
The role;
* Lead the end-to-end online trading strategy to drive revenue, conversion, and profitability
* Identify and activate new digital channels and marketplaces to expand reach and revenue
* Own annual and quarterly forecasting for online trading and digital marketing
* Allocate investment strategically across channels to maximise ROI
* Monitor performance against spend, adapting forecasts and plans as needed
* Develop and deliver an integrated online marketing strategy aligned to business objectives
* Oversee campaigns across paid media, SEO, affiliates, PR, and owned channels
* Take full accountability for website performance and customer experience
* Lead conversion rate optimisation initiatives to improve conversion, AOV, and the end-to-end journey
* Manage relationships with paid media, SEO, CRO, PR, and affiliate agencies
* Deliver clear, commercially focused insights to the Director and Board
* Use data to inform decisions, prioritise optimisation activity, and shape future strategy
* Lead, develop, and motivate the online trading and marketing team
About you;
* Proven experience in a senior online trading, e-commerce, or digital marketing leadership role
* Strong track record of driving online revenue growth
* Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability
* Deep understanding of CRO, website optimisation, digital merchandising, and testing methodologies
* Experience managing multiple digital agencies and significant marketing budgets
* Highly analytical, with the ability to translate insight into commercial action
* Confident presenting strategy and performance to senior and board-level stakeholders
* People management and leadership experience
Desirable
* Experience launching or scaling new online channels or marketplaces
* Background in retail, e-commerce, or DTC environments
* Brand management experience
