Anopportunity has arisen for an enthusiast Estates Technician with an electricalbackground, who will carry out crucial maintenance, fault finding, repairs andinstallation work on all facilities, plant and equipment throughout the LeedsTeaching Hospitals NHS Trust Estate.

Workingon the full range of Estates Services equipment, the Electrical EstatesTechnician will undertake activities which require problem solving and solutionidentifying, along with analysis of complex situations to resolve technicalissues on multifaceted equipment.

Main duties of the job

Install,maintain, service and repair the full range of Estates Services equipment.

Responsiblefor calibration and fault finding on a wide range of engineering plant andequipment including various voltage systems, medical gas systems, nurse callsystems, lighting, fire detection, building services controls, standbygenerator plant, heating and ventilation control systems and refrigerationplant.

Undertakesurveys, evaluating inspection reports and maintenance repairs, improvementand capital work across the Trust as directed by management, ensuringcompliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.

Planand organise interruptions, maintenance activities and co-ordinates work ofothers. Provides practical training to others and evaluates work.

Deputisefor Estates Officer on the full range of management duties as well asproviding technical advice to other Estates staff and contractors.

Participatein some out of hours work as and when required.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Completion of recognised and registered CITB or EITB apprenticeship


Experience

* Previous experience working on breakdowns and PPM on electrical plant found in a hospital environment.
* Previous experience working on new installations, control systems, plant and equipment breakdowns, fault finding, rectifications and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of technical
* Knowledge of various Health and Safety legislation as applicable to core trade, ensuring the well being of staff, patients and visitors.
* Working in a acute Hospital Environment, HTM 06, Nurse call systems, BMS -Systems


Skills & Behaviours

* Able to satisfy the physical demands of the job.
* Able to work safely at heights .
* Able to understand and comply with the requirements of the Trusts H&S policies (subject to suitable training).
* Understands and demonstrates the importance of effective communication with department heads.
* Professional approach and able to prioritise own workload.
