Our client is a leading manufacturing company based in Newcastle under Lyme. They are constantly growing through innovation and are seeking a CAD Engineer to join their team.
Job Description:
As a CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for creating accurate and timely 3D CAD drawings for both standard and bespoke products, ensuring that all customer-specific requirements are precisely met.
Duties for the CAD Engineer will include:
Produce accurate and timely 3D CAD drawings for both standard and bespoke products
Ensure all technical drawings fully meet customer-specific requirements and are suitable for efficient, high-quality manufacturing.
Act as a key contributor to the processing of daily customer orders, translating specifications into manufacturable designs.
Support engineering design changes and contribute to continuous improvement in product quality and consistency.
As the CAD Engineer, you will participate in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, including the creation of 3D models, technical drawings, and supporting documentation for new product launches.
Collaborate closely with internal teams, including production, quality, planning, sales, and R&D, to ensure practical, cost-effective, and compliant solutions.
Contribute to the standardisation and optimisation of internal drawing practices, templates, and design workflows.
Assist in maintaining a reliable and structured design data management system, ensuring design accuracy and traceability.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by addressing NCRs and updating documentation accordingly.
Assist in developing installation manuals and production documentation. For the CAD Engineer role, it would be good to see candidates with:
Proven experience in a CAD design or engineering role within a manufacturing or construction-related industry.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent).
An understanding of DriveWorks would be advantageous.
Experience producing bespoke manufacturing drawings and order-specific configurations.
Ability to interpret technical specifications and customer requirements.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a collaborative mindset.
High attention to detail and accuracy, with strong organisational skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools. Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 per annum
