Opportunity for a full-time Pharmacy Dispenser or Accuracy Checking Dispenser to join our team at the award-winning Dysart Pharmacy, Kirkcaldy.
UK community Pharmacy work experience is required.
Position is for up to 40 hours per week, ideally over 5 days, with flexibility for a four-day week for the right candidate. This is a permanent role.
The role may include some occasional Saturdays 9am-1pm on a rotational basis.
Pharmacy operates 9.00am - 6.00pm weekdays and 9.00am-1.00pm on Saturdays.
Pharmacy experience needed, further training provided.
Main purpose of the role:
This role would suit someone looking to gain career progression in community pharmacy including training as an accuracy checking dispenser and potentially technician if performance and other academic criteria are met. Competitive pay rate based on experience/qualifications.
The pharmacy assistant(s) will work under the direct supervision of our experienced independent prescribing pharmacist and will carry out day-to-day activities connected with the preparation and supply of medicines and will provide advice to patients on the use of medicines as well as on general health and lifestyle matters.
They will assist the manager in supervising processes in the pharmacy and other staff to ensure a smooth operation and excellent customer services.
Primary responsibilities
* To work as part of a team supporting the pharmacy manager in providing excellent customer service & patient care to help grow the pharmacy business.
* To select, label and dispense correct items in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure safe supply to patients;
* To dispense controlled drugs in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure legal compliance;
* To ensure at the point of sale, the safe and correct supply of dispensed items to patients;
* To support pharmacy colleagues and mentor others through the timely completion of training courses;
* To work as part of a team and actively demonstrate a willingness to support and achieve the overall business objectives.
Person specification
* Pharmacy experience or qualifications advantageous e.g. Medicines Counter Assistant course and/or NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or NPA Accredited Dispensing Assistant Course (or equivalent)/ Further training will be provided if necessary.
