 Faculty
The School of Optometry and Vision Science has just launched a new four year undergraduate Masters in Optometry to replace the current three year Batchelors in Optometry course. 
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join us as Lecturers (Grade 9) in Optometry to make significant contributions to the implementation of both academic research and our new teaching and learning strategy. The ideal candidates will have clinical as well as academic expertise and a track record of research in Optometry and related topics.
The role can be considered for job share (i.e 0.5/0.6 FTE)
The School of Optometry and Vision Sciences is one of the oldest in the UK and provides a supportive and developmental environment to all academic staff.
What you will be doing:
 1. Undertake research informed teaching and teaching related activities, to be agreed with the Head of Department. 
 2. Plan, deliver and assess innovative, engaging and challenging teaching activities which provide a distinctive and exceptional student experience.
 3. Ensure teaching is research-led with subject content underpinned by relevant specialist research.
Qualifications/ experience:
 4. PhD (or equivalent) in Optometry, or a relevant subject area
 5. Honours degree (or equivalent) in Optometry
 6. Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice, or commitment to obtaining this following appointment.
