Job Description:
Here at Nurslink, we are currently looking for an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to support an NHS trust in London to work 37.5 hours per week, on a mixed shift rota.
Location: Situated in North London.
Job Summary:
The post holder will work closely with and deputize the ward manager in their absence. Be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team, supervise, teach, and instruct junior staff, Nursing Assistants, Activity coordinators, and STR Workers in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
Working independently, the post holder will be responsible for developing and coordinating the individual’s assessment and subsequent care plan as agreed with the multi-disciplinary team.
The post holder will adhere to Trust policies, data protection, and Health and Safety.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
As an RNMH nurse, you will:
* Observe the requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983, ensuring the patient is fully informed of their legal position and rights under the Act.
* Determine nursing priorities and plan patient care accordingly, including full risk assessments, and inform the Ward manager when changes in circumstances may affect standards of care.
* Participate as an effective member of the MDT and be responsible for developing and implementing a patient-centered approach to care: assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the care needs of patients and their carers.
* Administer medication in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct and locally agreed policies. Have thorough knowledge of medications used in mental health treatment and provide information regarding medication, treatment, dosage, and side effects to patients, relatives, and carers. Use all available resources to assist in this.
* Liaise with other professionals, specialist nurses, and units to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Interpret clinical observations, act upon them, and communicate information to other team members after making necessary clinical judgments in line with protocols.
* Support and assist the ward manager in daily ward operations, ensuring efficient resource use, and have ongoing responsibility for delegated aspects of ward management.
* Conduct appraisals and supervision of self, junior, and untrained staff in line with Trust policy, supporting team development.
* Participate actively in Quality Audit documentation and undertake relevant audits for the Ward/Unit.
