Position Summary
We are looking for a part‑time, highly enthusiastic, and motivated Oral Health Improvement Officer working 2 days per week. This new post is funded by additional investment to cover Herefordshire. The post will be part of a team working alongside Worcestershire OHI and will sit within the Consultant Led Worcestershire Community Dental Service.
Main Duties
* Identify and define individual target groups and establish their requirements for oral health improvement training.
* Plan, develop, organise and deliver Oral Health Improvement Activities within Herefordshire, and support the wider oral health improvement service development across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
* Review resource needs across the administrative service and role area to ensure delivery.
* Undertake the collection of appropriate and accurate information to facilitate service contract requirements and developments.
* Plan, develop, coordinate, deliver and evaluate training programmes and projects for key stakeholders within the area such as Public Health, Dieticians, Speech and Language Therapists, Care Homes and Care Agencies.
* Prepare and deliver presentations for county audiences, using a range of equipment including laptop, projector and visual display boards.
* Support in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports relating to Oral Health Improvement activity and the delivery of KPIs.
* Work in partnership with other healthcare professionals and stakeholders in delivering effective OHI.
Job Responsibilities
* Carry out office duties related to OHI activities.
* Undertake quality assurance with key stakeholders, highlighting areas of concern and suggesting changes of practice for the OHI Programme.
* Undertake administrative duties specific to the role.
* Be responsible for the supervision of the Administrator and day‑to‑day coordination of planning of oral health training sessions.
* Participate in other tasks including preventative programmes and patient support activities.
* Deal promptly with direct and indirect enquiries from key stakeholders, staff or other health and social care professionals, resolving problems where possible.
* Undertake Staff Appraisal and Development reviews for administration support.
* Supervise and support team members where appropriate.
* Undertake regular supervision with administration support.
* Organise appropriate oral health programmes and national campaigns.

Experience
* Experience of implementing and supporting Health Improvement Programmes
* Previous involvement in oral health improvement
* Experience of managing day‑to‑day activities
* Producing, analysing and monitoring monthly data and reports
Knowledge
* Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling Oral Health Programmes
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of oral health improvement
* Broad knowledge of Dentistry
* Evidence of continuing professional development
Qualifications
* Nurses Oral health/health education/teaching qualification or working towards it
* Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject
* Portfolio of evidence of continuing professional development
* National Diploma in Dental Nursing or equivalent level 3 dental nursing qualification
