We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Compound Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a large, fast-paced automotive compound operation.
This is a senior leadership role within a high-volume environment, requiring a proven operator who has previously managed large-scale vehicle compounds and understands the complexities that come with high stock volumes, tight turnaround times, and multiple stakeholder demands.
The Role:
1. Oversee all compound operations, ensuring vehicles are managed efficiently from arrival through to dispatch
2. Lead, motivate and develop operational teams across multiple functions
3. Maintain full control of stock accuracy, movement, and location within a large-scale compound
4. Ensure all operational processes meet customer, manufacturer, and internal standards
5. Drive performance against KPIs including turnaround times, utilisation, and service levels
6. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs
7. Manage health & safety compliance across the site
About You:
8. Proven experience managing large vehicle compounds is essential
9. Strong operational background within automotive, logistics, or vehicle handling environments
10. Experience overseeing high-volume stock levels – this role is not suited to candidates from small compounds handling only a few hundred vehicles
11. Demonstrable leadership experience managing sizeable teams in a fast-paced environment
12. Highly organised with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
13. Confident managing multiple stakeholders and customer relationships
14. Results-driven with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement
