As an External Cleaner, you will ensure that the exterior areas of your main location of work are maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness and safety. By keeping outdoor spaces free of debris, dirt, and hazards, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the appearance of our clients' facilities and creating a welcoming environment for all.
In this role, you'll handle tasks like sweeping, picking up litter, emptying bins, and general outdoor maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in various weather conditions.
Responsibilities:
* Sweeping: Sweep paths, walkways, and other public areas to maintain a tidy appearance and prevent accumulation of debris.
* Litter Collection: Thoroughly collect litter from designated areas, ensuring all public spaces are clean and presentable.
* Bin Emptying: Regularly empty bins in assigned locations, separating recyclables and waste as per company guidelines.
* Issue Reporting: Promptly report any maintenance issues, hazards, or concerns to the line manager using the provided company smartphone. This includes taking photos where necessary and completing end-of-shift reports.
* Communication: Maintain consistent communication with the line manager, especially for reporting completion of tasks following each shift.
* Equipment Maintenance: Take responsibility for the care and maintenance of all provided tools and equipment.
* Adhoc Duties: Other duties which may be required as reasonably commensurate with the role.
Person Specification:
* Experience of cleaning on commercial grounds is desirable.
* Attention to Detail: Ability to spot and address even the smallest areas that need cleaning or maintenance, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness.
* Time Management: Efficiently manage time to complete all assigned tasks within the scheduled work hours.
* Safety Awareness: Understanding of safety practices and procedures to prevent accidents and handle cleaning materials and equipment properly.
* Reliability: Consistent attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic to always maintain the expected standard of cleanliness.
* Customer Service Orientation: A friendly and professional demeanour to create a positive impression on visitors and clients.
