Are you looking for an exciting career in healthcare? Do you want to earn while you learn and qualify as a registered pharmacy technician? We have a fantastic opportunity for three Trainee Pharmacy Technicians to join our dedicated hospital pharmacy team at Furness General Hospital.
Trainee Pharmacy Technician - 2 year fixed term
As a Trainee Pharmacy Technician, you will undertake a structured two-year training programme, which will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to become a qualified and General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) registered Pharmacy Technician. You will work as part of our hospital pharmacy team, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of hospital pharmacy services while studying for your Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians.
Salary & Benefits
* This post attracts a trainee salary under Annex U/21 of Agenda for Change:
* Year 1 – 70% of the top of a Band 4 salary
* Year 2 – 75% of the top of a Band 4 salary
* Adult minimum wage will be protected
Training & Development
* You will attend Kendal College one day per week in term times for formal learning.
* The remaining four days will be spent in the hospital, where you will receive supervised practical training in dispensary services, medicines management, and patient care.
* You will gain experience in areas such as the dispensary, ward-based pharmacy, procurement, and stock control.
* You will receive support from experienced pharmacy professionals, including a dedicated mentor.
* Additional study in your own time will be required to successfully complete the training programme.
Candidate Requirements
* Be enthusiastic, motivated, and eager to learn.
* Have at least four GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including Maths, English, and Science.
* Be committed to completing the two-year training programme.
* Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Work well as part of a team and independently.
