Role Title: Active Cambria Coach
Location: Deeside, with the ability to travel across sites as required
Contract Type: Part time (94.59% 35 hrs per week) Fixed term - 31/07/2025
Salary: £ 24,218 - £24,823 (pay award pending)
We currently have a vacancy for an Active Cambria Coach within our Learner experience team at Coleg Cambria. Active Cambria is designed to develop Coleg Cambria students and staff to improve their physical literacy, social, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
As an integral member of the Learner experience team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering multi-sport sessions across all Coleg Cambria sites. You will also support the growth of our student volunteering experience. The Active Cambria Coach will work to meet the demands of the local community, staff, and students to promote and increase participation in physical activity and sport.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Recruit, retain, and train Trusted Leaders and Young Ambassadors to support the college and community.
2. Assist in seeking out funding and providing information to prepare bids for funding opportunities to support sustainable activities.
3. Plan and grow engagement in the Active Cambria programme and deliver Mind, Body, and Soul sessions.
4. Design and develop bespoke activities to motivate learners and staff, increasing competence and confidence.
5. Coach physical activity/mixed sport sessions during curriculum time, after college, and as required.
6. Facilitate community Junior Athletic sessions, Active Camps, and other community activities.
7. Maintain a valid coaching qualification and follow an appropriate CPD programme.
8. Monitor, report, and evaluate activities.
Essential Requirements
1. Level 2 English and Maths qualifications (or equivalent) at Grade 4 (C) or above.
2. Currently hold a Level 2 Digital Literacy qualification or be willing to work towards it.
3. Level 2 Coaching qualification.
4. Previous experience coaching large groups of young children.
5. Experience of working in a college running multi-sport sessions.
6. Previous sporting experience and knowledge.
7. Excellent organisational and time management skills.
8. Able to work as part of a team, flexible and adaptable when required.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Ability to demonstrate personal resilience to cope with difficult situations.
11. Proactive and self-motivated.
12. Welsh language skills are desirable.
