Job Details:
* Job Title: Domestic Abuse Support Worker
* Location: Office Based - Barry, Vale of Glamorgan
* Salary Range: £24,054 - 27,344
* Hours: Full-time (35 hours/week, Monday to Friday)
* Contract: Permanent (dependent on funding)
What you'll do as a Domestic Abuse Support Worker:
* Be the first point of contact for survivors, ensuring they understand their rights and available services
* Deliver immediate crisis intervention and support planning tailored to each survivor's needs and strengths
* Develop trusting, professional relationships to aid recovery and future planning
* Assist clients in navigating housing options and advocating on their behalf
* Facilitate access to other services and engagement opportunities
* Maintain accurate and confidential records, evaluating progress and adjusting support plans as necessary
What You'll Need:
* A strong understanding of the challenges faced by survivors of domestic abuse
* Experience in providing emotional and practical support, with excellent case management skills
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and a trauma-informed approach
* Ability to uphold the charity values of curiosity, strength, collaboration, self-awareness, kindness, inclusivity, integrity, and dedication
