It is one of the largest special schools in the area. Our cohort of students have a range of Special Educational needs with their primary area of learning being cognition and learning and communication and interaction. Many of our pupils have needs such as autism, ADHD, and global development delay. Students primarily live in Lichfield, Rugeley, Tamworth, Cannock and Stafford, but also travel from surrounding areas such as Walsall and Birmingham. We are proud to be part of the Primitas Learning Partnership, which is a near medium sized academy trust. Queen's Croft is the only special school within the trust. We are part of a family of six other schools: four mainstream primary schools, and two mainstream secondary schools. Our vision is to inspire GREATness and to give our pupils opportunities to be successful in academic subjects but also prepare them for the wider world beyond school and inspire them to become successful young adults. The school context · Queen’s Croft high school has 3 classes of each year group within KS3 and KS4. · Within KS3 most teaching is class based and follows a more primary model, within KS4 children navigate to subject specific teachers and classrooms. · Our class sizes are between 8 -14 depending on the needs of the pupils and generally supported by 1 full time teaching assistant. · We have three pathways which pupils are taught in for each subject, and these lead to a range of accreditations from AQA unit awards, Entry level certificates, BTECs, NOCN Awards, Vocational Awards and GCSE’s. · Within leadership we have a Co-Headship model of Ms Letitia Carter and Mr Sam Wood and 3 AHTs. · The school’s facilities include specialised rooms for Art, Science, DT, Music and Food Technology.
