Sterile Services Technician

Contract Type - Permanent, Full-time, 37.5 hours/week
Shifts between 07.30am and 20.30pm, Monday - Friday and 08.00am - 18.00pm Saturday
Salary - £27,222 + Benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development)
We have an exciting role for a Sterile Services Technician to join our team at The Princess Grace Hospital. You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive service of sterile instrument sets and singularly packed instruments for the treatment of patients in theatres and departments located at The Princess Grace Hospital.
In your role as a Sterile Services Technician you will understand the Infection Control requirements in relation to patient care and medical devices.

What you'll do:
1. Receipt of used medical devices in the decontamination area from all users of the service
2. Inspect, assemble, pack and sterilise medical devices in line with the hospital policies
3. Always adhere to the Quality System in operation which is the base for the Departmental Accreditation
4. Repack instrument trays as necessary
5. Monitor output to ensure sterilisation is complete and that standard trays are complete with all instruments present
What you'll bring:
6. Experience working in a sterile services department
7. Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures either within the NHS or private hospital setting
8. Health and Safety training including Lifting and Handling training
9. A real team player who has excellent communication, attention to detail and the ability to recognise and report faults in equipment
