Job Description
Our client is seeking a solicitor, whether experienced, newly qualified, or close to qualification, who are keen to build their expertise in insolvency law and practice.
Their well established insolvency and corporate recovery department is expanding, and the successful candidate will work closely with the team’s lead partner, an insolvency practitioner with a strong reputation in the sector. Their background includes secondments within a bank’s recoveries division and hands-on experience alongside appointment-taking insolvency practitioners.
Most of the team’s work involves advising insolvency practitioners acting as liquidators, administrators, trustees in bankruptcy and in other formal roles. Direct experience in insolvency law is not essential, what matters is a genuine interest in developing knowledge and being fully trained in the area.
We’re looking for someone who:
\t
* Is comfortable with IT systems and open to learning new workflows
\t
* Presents a friendly, approachable manner
\t
* Communicates clearly and avoids unnecessary jargon with clients
\t
* Works cooperatively with colleagues across different practice areas
\t
* Enjoys contributing to a team-focused environment and supporting others
\t
* Remains calm and effective under pressure
\t
* Takes pride in their work and takes ownership of tasks and issues
\t
* Maintains regular and appropriate communication with clients
Applications are encouraged from individuals who can demonstrate:
\t
* Qualification as a solicitor (at any level, including those about to qualify)
\t
* An interest in developing personal marketing and networking skills
\t
* A desire to communicate clearly and accurately, both verbally and in writing
\t
* Willingness to build negotiation and influencing skills
\t
* Self-motivation to meet or exceed goals and expectations
\t
* Strong organisational habits and the ability to manage time and resources effectively
\t
* Initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving
\t
* Creativity and the ability to propose original ideas or solutions
\t
* Attention to detail and a methodical, organised working style
\t
* The ability to recognise future client needs, spot cross-referral opportunities, and make appropriate introductions
\t
* A commitment to returning client calls promptly
\t
* Confidence in meeting new clients and helping to develop new business
\t
* Promotion of our client’s service-focused values (rather than competing on price alone) and meaningful follow-up on viable enquiries
The following would be advantageous:
\t
* Strong organisational skills
\t
* Experience in related commercial practice areas, such as:
\t
\t\t
o Company law
\t\t
o Commercial contracts (drafting and negotiation)
\t\t
o Commercial litigation
\t\t
o Commercial property
\t\t
o Ability to manage a caseload independently
\t\t
o Adaptability and responsiveness to change
\t
