This apprenticeship gives you the chance to get hands on experience working on the Councilâs fleet of vehicles and equipment that help keep local services running. Youâll learn how to service, repair and prepare vehicles for MOTs, working alongside experienced mechanics who will support you as you learn. Youâll work with a wide mix of vehicles, from petrol and diesel to electric and hybrid, building real skills for the future while making sure everything is safe, road legal and ready for use. Time management, Vehicle and Road Traffic Legislation, safe tools and machinery use, servicing and diagnosing mechanical faults for a range of council vehicles and equipment. Three National 4 qualifications, or equivalent, one must be in English. Core skills at SCQF Level 4. Relevant knowledge and/or experience gained through education, voluntary or part time work. Written and verbal communication skills required, ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team, take and follow instructions and be motivated and enthusiastic.
