Your Purpose:
Are you an innovative finite element specialist with experience in modelling and assessment of civil or structural engineering structures? Do you excel in developing complex technical solutions for ground-breaking projects?
If you're a dynamic thinker interested in advanced numerical (finite element) analysis of steel and reinforced concrete structures, seismic, blast, and impact design, or skilled in first principles engineering and problem solving, this role is for you!
The Nuclear and Power civil and structural team seeks candidates with advanced structural analysis skills, including data post-processing for design and assessment. This position offers opportunities to develop your skills within a diverse and experienced team in Bristol and Epsom offices.

What We Need?
The ideal candidate will have:
* A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
* Strong interpersonal skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders and build professional relationships.
* Experience with advanced analysis of RC and steel structures.
* Experience analyzing multiple load cases, including seismic, impact, blast, etc.
* Background in nuclear or safety-related industries (others considered case-by-case).
* Proficiency with industry-standard finite element software (ABAQUS, ANSYS, LS-DYNA, LUSAS).
* Experience with scripting and automation, preferably Python.
* Technical rigor and commitment to excellence.
* Problem-solving mindset and ability to interpret analysis outputs using first principles.
* Knowledge of UK, European, and American nuclear industry codes and standards.
* Passion for mentoring and developing engineers.
* Chartership status or working towards it.
Your Contribution:
You will lead civil and structural work packages requiring advanced analysis for RC and steel structures, liaising with clients and providing technical reports. You will help develop practical, cost-effective solutions and contribute to staff development. Project management tasks such as monitoring budgets and schedules may also be involved.
