Lead Civil Engineer
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid)

A leading EPC specialist in turnkey substation delivery is looking for a Lead Civil Engineer to join its UK team. This role covers full project lifecycle from tendering through to construction and handover.
Responsibilities:
Lead civil and structural design, review drawings, calculations, and documentation
Supervise civil designers, resolve site queries, remedial works, and snags
Support CDM and Temporary Works duties
Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations and industry standards
Evaluate subcontractors and contribute to tender documentation
Liaise with UK Transmission System Operators and major utilities
Develop project requirements, budgets, and delivery plans
Monitor costs, report on progress, and implement cost-effective solutions
Support contract negotiations, manage change orders, and resolve disputes
Requirements:
Extensive experience on large-scale infrastructure or substation projects
Strong civil/structural design capability and project cost control
Knowledge of UK Transmission System Operators and utility environments
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Member of a recognized professional institution; Chartered Engineer desirable
