A Vacancy at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The Emergency Medicine Division is a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. We are looking for highly motivated and adaptable team members who are enthusiastic about providing the best care for our patients whilst they are at their most vulnerable. The Emergency Medicine Division is busy with high patient turnover, so you will be confident in delivering care while helping to maintain patient privacy and dignity. You will work alongside our friendly and professional team in the Emergency Department, Emergency Assessment Unit or Acute Admissions Unit to ensure patient safety and high-quality care.

Responsibilities
* Provide hands-on personal care for patients and encourage independence where possible.
* Be an essential part of the nursing team, delivering care and support to patients and their families.
* Work as part of a team in the Emergency Department, Emergency Assessment Unit or Acute Admissions Unit to ensure patient safety and care.
Requirements / Eligibility
* Healthcare Support Worker role; focus on putting patients first and delivering the best care every day.
* Willingness to support patients and families and to work across the specified units.
* Shift pattern availability is required as the roles cover a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week schedule including weekends and nights; shifts are 12.5 hours long with 1 hour for breaks, start times 7:15am-7:45pm or 7:15pm-7:45am.

Training & Development
* You will be required to complete the Care Certificate as part of ongoing training. The Care Certificate defines knowledge, skills, and behaviours for roles in health and social care and comprises 15 minimum standards that should be covered if you are new to care.
* Paths for progression include Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship or Nursing Associate program, supported and financed by the Trust—ask for more information.
