Commercial & Compliance Lead
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Up To £45,000 Per Annum
Hours: 08:30 – 17:00
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday

Key Responsibilities:
6. Lead the review, drafting, and management of commercial contracts, NDAs, and related legal documentation.
7. Oversee the full contract lifecycle, ensuring timely execution, renewal, and variation in line with internal policies and delegated authority.
8. Apply sound commercial judgement to identify non-standard terms and potential risks, escalating where appropriate.
9. Ensure contract records and documentation are accurate, organised, and complete.
10. Take ownership of commercial and regulatory compliance processes, ensuring alignment with governance frameworks and external requirements.
11. Maintain governance registers, approval records, and audit-ready documentation with a high level of accuracy.
12. Liaise with external legal advisers, coordinating responses and providing commercially informed input on contractual and compliance matters.
13. Manage the administration, renewal, and evidence-gathering processes for key business accreditations.
14. Lead preparation of documentation for sustainability initiatives, Net Zero commitments, and regulatory reporting (including CBAM).
15. Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of trademark, patent, and wider intellectual property records.
16. Support the protection and monitoring of IP assets, escalating concerns and coordinating actions where required.
17. Identify, evaluate, and monitor commercial, contractual, and compliance risks.
18. Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Finance, and external advisers to ensure commercial requirements are understood, achieved, and properly documented.
19. Handle sensitive legal and commercial information with discretion and sound professional judgement.
20. Support cross-functional initiatives, ensuring commercial activities align with operational realities in a fast-paced SME environment.
21. Promote strong collaboration across teams, ensuring commercial information is reliable, accurate, and actionable.
The Successful Candidate:
22. Demonstrated experience reviewing, drafting, or managing commercial agreements.
23. Strong knowledge of compliance, governance, and audit requirements within a commercial environment.
24. Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
25. Confident communicator, able to advise, influence, and collaborate internally and externally.
26. Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM, and ERP systems, with the ability to produce accurate commercial reporting.
27. Proactive and ownership-driven mindset, with a commitment to continuous improvement and commercial excellence.
28. Experience in a commercial, contracts, compliance, or governance-focused role.
29. Degree in Business, Law, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
30. Experience within a manufacturing SME environment is desirable.
