Responsive Disrepair Surveyor
Council in the South West
£27 PAYE / £34 Umbrella or Deemed LTD

I'm working in partnership with a local authority in the South West who are on the lookout for an experienced Responsive Surveyor to join their team on a temporary contract.
This is a great opportunity for a seasoned professional who can hit the ground running, offering expert surveying skills with a sharp eye for compliance, cost control, and tenant satisfaction.
The Role: You’ll be tasked with the evaluation, specification, and management of responsive repairs, disrepair cases, and condition surveys across the council’s housing stock. This includes:
1. Carrying out detailed inspections and defect diagnoses
2. Producing technical reports, specifications, schedules of rates, and remedial plans
3. Taking full end-to-end ownership of disrepair cases – from legal liaison to project close-out
4. Acting as Project Manager, Contract Administrator, and Supervisor on works
5. Monitoring contractor performance and ensuring works are delivered on time, to budget, and to quality standards
6. Maintaining clear communication with tenants and internal stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of each case
Key Responsibilities:
7. Deliver technical surveying input on housing condition claims
8. Collaborate with legal services to mitigate litigation risk
9. Specify and order materials, equipment, and works through the council’s systems
10. Ensure compliance, cost-efficiency, and customer satisfaction are achieved
11. Maintain robust documentation and ensure accurate reporting on project progress
