Our vision: To deliver quality in the work which we undertake, provide efficient services to all service users, and ensure completeness and accuracy of the Electoral Register, Valuation Rolls and the Valuation (Council Tax) Lists. Who are we looking for: Divisional Assessor who will be responsible for the management of a team, coordinating and delivering services across all 3 functions carried out by Lanarkshire Valuation Joint Board. You must be able to provide direction to your team regarding property inspections and valuations, analysis of both cost and rental transactions, devising schemes of valuation, negotiating proposals and appeals with professional agents/rate payers, and acting as an expert witness in relation to both Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rating. You will have a direct impact on the progress of trainee Valuers, guiding them through the different stages of the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence process. You will take a lead role in the coordination of the valuation services, and contribute to strategic planning, form part of the management team and lead by example. As a member of the management team, it will be necessary to share ideas for change and improvement, shaping the future of the valuation section regards 3 yearly revaluations. You will attend regular management team meetings and have the opportunity to discuss and become involved in areas of governance. You will also be expected to represent the Assessor at Tribunal hearings leading evidence and as an expert witness when required. You will have a positive, professional attitude together with the ability to work under pressure while ensuring strict deadlines are achieved and the ability to work as part of a team, or individually. A full driving licence and use of a car for business purposes, or the ability to drive a pool car for business purposes, is desirable for this role, but not required.
