This role is an integral part of the restaurant team. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager and fellow Front of House Supervisors, you will support all areas of the operation, including taking responsibility for leading shifts in the Manager's absence.
You will already understand what it means to deliver exceptional hospitality and will thrive on the challenge of ensuring that you and your team consistently exceed guest expectations. This is a hands-on position where your outstanding organisational and prioritisation skills, along with strong attention to detail, will be essential in maintaining the highest standards of service and quality at all times.
DUTIES INCLUDE :
* Assisting with the daily operations of the restaurant, staff training and embedding the standards required of the team
* Regularly running the shift, ensuring that daily shift plans are followed (managing breaks, shift changeovers and table plans) – whilst also undertaking 'hands on' duties as required
* Build and maintain good working relationships with other front of house supervisors, ensuring that the team work together in a common goal and vision of delighting our customers to drive sales and return visits
* Delivering excellent standards of customer service at all times by listening, understanding and dealing with customer queries in a confident, professional, knowledgeable and friendly manner and leading and motivating the team to do the same
* Using initiative to make the right decisions
* Effective communication with the kitchen team e.g. in relation to food allergens
* Assist with ensuring that high standards of hygiene, safety and general housekeeping are met at all times
* Ensuring personal cleanliness and that of the team is to a high standard at all times (clothes, hands, PPE etc)
* Passing customer feedback to management
* Dealing with complaints in the restaurant through to a successful resolution
* Maintain vigilance against theft of services
* Attending staff meetings and relevant training courses
Other duties as required within the department and wider store as required
ESSENTIAL :
* Previous experience in a customer care role
* Previous experience in cash handling
* Excellent verbal communication skills
* Excellent numeracy skills
* Great time management
* Experience of working flexibly both as part of a team and alone
Hours: This role will naturally attract afternoon to evening working for a higher percentage of the working week with some morning to afternoon working. The role will also involve working weekends. Flexibility is important.
