Job Description – Marine Advisor (Offshore Wind)
Purpose of the Role
As a Marine Advisor, you will join the Offshore Wind Business Line within the Installation Method Department. You will collaborate closely with project teams and cross-functional departments—including Engineering, Procurement, HSE, Quality, and Planning—to provide expert maritime advice and support for offshore operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare scopes of work and project documentation related to marine operations and vessel usage
* Develop technical specifications for vessels involved in offshore activities
* Review and assess technical bids and proposals
* Establish procedures and method statements for marine operations
* Participate in marine assurance activities
* Contribute to the development of offshore engineering methods and project execution strategies related to marine and vessel operations
* Support HAZIDs, HAZOPs, and other formal risk-assessment processes
Profile & Requirements
Education
* Master STCW II/2 (Unrestricted) or equivalent
* Certificate of Competency with command experience preferred
* Lower CoC considered with relevant degree and experience
Experience
* 10–15 years as a Senior Officer on offshore vessel types
* Strong background in vessel operations and offshore activities
Technical Skills
* Proven ability to command an offshore vessel
* Solid understanding of offshore marine operations
IT Skills
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
1. Other Requirements
* Flexibility to travel on site up to 70%
* Must currently reside in the UK
* Must hold full and permanent UK right-to-work status (no sponsorship available)
