The Role
This role combines senior-level development expertise with architectural responsibility for the Visualfiles platform. The successful candidate will play a key role in defining and maintaining architectural standards, producing high-quality solution designs, and leading the delivery of complex development work.
The position requires both hands-on technical capability and the ability to guide and influence best practice across the development team.
This is a mostly remote position, with 1 – 2 days in office per month.
Key Responsibilities
* Define, document and maintain modern architectural standards and design guidance for the firm’s use of the Visualfiles platform
* Lead the delivery of key Visualfiles development workstreams, ensuring quality and timeliness
* Provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to junior team members
* Produce accurate effort estimates aligned to best-practice delivery approaches
* Assess commercial viability and contribute to ROI analysis for development initiatives
* Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements and shape appropriate technical solutions
* Break down complex projects into manageable deliverables and implementation plans
* Promote and enforce development standards, ensuring consistency and quality across the team
* Collaborate closely with other developers and the wider IT function to align delivery approaches
* Act as a role model in professionalism, technical excellence and commitment to the firm’s objectives
Skills & Experience
* Strong hands‑on experience in Visualfiles development, solution design and delivery
* Experience within legal IT or a professional services environment
* Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills
* Deep product knowledge of Visualfiles and its wider ecosystem
Desirable, but not essential
* Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform or other low-code technologies
* Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management tools
Salary
Up to £60,000 per annum
