Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £14.28 an hour; this increases to £15.41 for stores inside the M25. For hours worked between midnight and 6am, you will receive an additional night premium of £2.30 per hour. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week for new colleagues, with options to work as few as 12 hours. We schedule your shifts within the availability windows provided, with 3 weeks' notice. We support flexibility; if your availability closely matches but isn't exact, we still encourage you to apply.
Customers are central to everything we do. As a Shift Leader, you'll support store operations, assist customers, and lead your team to ensure a smooth shopping experience. Your role involves overseeing store duties, supporting colleagues, maintaining store standards, and contributing to a positive team environment. You must be 18 or over to apply.
You will be responsible for:
* Coordinating the store team to deliver excellent customer service
* Supporting colleagues to meet priorities and take breaks
* Opening and closing the store, ensuring safety and proper duty coverage
* Being the point of contact in the absence of a manager
* Maintaining store cleanliness and presentation
* Supporting community and charity events
* Fostering an inclusive team atmosphere
* Providing customer service and listening to customer needs
* Keeping the team informed and updated
* Monitoring store performance and seeking improvements
* Managing store improvements and removing obstacles
* Following health and safety procedures
* Recognizing colleagues' good service
