Data Administrator (Research) – Oncology research.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Data Administrator to join our friendly oncology research team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required
* To collate and transcribe/export data from medical and other records (paper or electronic) to CRFs (paper or electronic) as required.
* Research administrative support to the oncology portfolio.
* The post holder will take a leading role in submitting accurate data in a timely manner and resolving queries relating to this data.
* To check recruitment of patients into studies including checking consent paperwork and study specimen records and to ensure that all relevant data has been recorded.
* The successful candidate will be responsible for site file maintenance, processing amendments and working alongside the nursing team to deliver studies.
* The post holder will need to combine their IT knowledge and knowledge of clinical research process as they will be expected to work on a variety of research databases.
* To attend meetings as appropriate and to take notes/minutes on request.
* To communicate effectively with all disciplines of staff involved in the research study.

Qualifications
Essential
* Good General Education (e.g. GCSE English and Maths A-C/ 4-9 or equivalent)
* Business Administration NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in an administrative environment.
Desirable
* Education to A level or equivalent
Experience

* Knowledge of dealing with non-routine issues such as problem solving for an area of work
* Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service experience
* Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg. Word, Excel and Outlook)
* Experience of using IT systems
* Understand confidentiality and apply the principles in everyday working practice
* Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of equality and diversity
Desirable
* Evidence of administrative or clinical audit experience in an NHS setting
* Knowledge of medical terminology and knowledge of Oncology as required for the post.
* Working knowledge of patient confidentiality/ Caldicott guidelines
* Awareness of Research Governance as far as it affects collection of research Study data
