Weighbridge Operator
Location: Plymouth, PL9 (Chelson Meadow)
Pay: £13.26 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Assignment: Temporary for 12 weeks (possible extension pending needs and requirements of the service)

We are looking for a confident, reliable and customer focused Weighbridge Operator to join our client’s busy team at Chelson Meadow on a temporary 12‑week basis, with the potential for extension following review. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well‑established operational site where accuracy, teamwork and excellent service are at the heart of what we do.
About the Role
As a key member of the site operations team, you will be responsible for the smooth and compliant running of the weighbridge. This is a central role that supports the safe and efficient movement of vehicles on and off site, ensuring all weights, transactions and customer interactions are handled professionally.
The weighbridge is a fast‑paced environment, so you’ll need to be organised, focused and able to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
Working hours:
* Monday–Thursday: 8:00am–4:00pm
* Friday: 8:00am–3:30pm
Key Responsibilities
* Operate the weighbridge in line with site procedures, compliance requirements and safety standards
* Accurately record vehicle weights, process tickets and input data into the system
* Provide friendly, professional customer service to drivers, contractors and site visitors
* Ensure all documentation is completed correctly and stored in line with GDPR and audit requirements
* Communicate clearly with the wider site team to support smooth vehicle flow and operational efficiency
* Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment within the weighbridge office
* Report any issues, discrepancies or safety concerns promptly to the site supervisor
* Support general administrative tasks as required to assist the operations team
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings a positive attitude, strong attention to detail and the ability to stay calm and focused in a busy environment.
You will be:
* Confident and professional when dealing with customers and drivers
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
* Comfortable working in a fast‑paced operational setting
* Able to multitask and prioritise effectively
* A strong communicator who works well as part of a team
* Competent with computers, with excellent keyboard and data entry skills
* Reliable, punctual and committed to delivering high‑quality work
Previous experience in a weighbridge, waste‑management or transport environment is beneficial but not essential, full training will be provided.
