I am recruiting a Project Manager to join a Tier One automotive supplier.
You will be responsible for the planning, execution and delivery of automotive manufacturing projects according to strict deadlines and within company margins.
The role is offered with a salary from £55 - £70K, with optional car scheme
Key to the role is the ability to coordinate the efforts of the company’s manufacturing team and its partners, to deliver projects according to plan. You will also define the project’s technical objectives, whilst overseeing customer satisfaction so that repeat business and new opportunities can be gained.
The Role
* Direct and manage automotive manufacturing projects from beginning to end.
* Define project scope, goals and deliverable.
* Develop full scale project plans and associated communication documents.
* Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals and, where necessary, negotiate with senior management the need for new services, new technologies and new equipment for new projects.
* Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
* Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
* Track project milestones and deliverables.
* Develop and deliver progress reports, quotations, proposals, documentation and presentations.
* Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
* Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members (including suppliers) and customers, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
* Build, develop and grow business relationships vital to the success of the company.
Experience Required
* Previous experience of project management in an automotive manufacturing environment is essential
* Knowledge of automotive OEM & Tier 1 manufacturing is essential
* Technical knowledge of a variety of manufacturing and post process operations is essential
* An understanding of injection moulding would be advantageous
* The ability to read 2D engineering drawings and knowledge of GD&T is essential
* Previous use of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process is essential
* The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
o Strong influencing, communication & organisation skills at all levels
o Highly competent in leading, steering and managing cross-business teams for the delivery of complex topics
o Proven project planning, management & delivery experience
o Rigorous attention to detail and experience of preparing papers and presentations
o Strong analytical skills (identifying facts’ source, listening, synthesising, deciding)
o Proven experience of delivering and preparing presentations on complex topics at all levels in a variety of business forums
You must possess a current clean driving license
