We are looking for a DevOps DBA to own, automate, and optimise database platforms across AWS and on‑premise environments. This role sits at the intersection of database administration, DevOps automation, CI/CD, and reliability engineering, enabling fast, secure, and resilient delivery of database services.
You will work closely with engineering, platform, and release teams to ensure databases are scalable, highly available, secure, and fully integrated into modern DevOps pipelines.
To be successful as a DevOps DBA Engineer, you should have experience with:
* Strong hands‑on experience as a DBA in a DevOps or Platform Engineering environment
* Proven expertise in:
o MongoDB (replica sets, sharding, performance tuning)
o Oracle Database (backup, recovery, HA, performance tuning)
* Solid experience with AWS (EC2, networking, storage, security concepts) and Terraform
* Experience operating databases in AWS and on‑premise environments
* CI/CD experience with Jenkins and GitLab
* Source control experience with Bitbucket and GitLab
* Configuration management and automation using Chef
* Strong Linux/Unix administration skills
Some Other Highly Valued Skills May Include
* Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation – nice to have)
* Database migration and modernisation projects
* Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK, AppDynamics, Grafana, OEM, Mongo Ops Manager)
* Understanding of security, encryption, and compliance requirements
* Scripting skills (Bash, Python, Groovy)
