Job Description Principle Delivery Manager - IT Infrastructure £68,555 We are seeking a driven and self-motivated Infrastructure Manager to join our dynamic technical team. This pivotal role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and infrastructure. The successful candidate will stay ahead of the technology curve, managing server and network infrastructure to maintain ongoing operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure the quality and integrity of our IT solutions. Review, contribute, and approve technical designs to meet requirements and standards. Having extensive knowledge of networks, voice, cloud and infrastructure security, azure and on prem storage, backup and virtualisation. Lead and develop the technical team, mentoring, training, and motivating team members to achieve high performance and skill development. Resolve critical technical issues by diagnosing and fixing problems efficiently, ensuring long-term benefits and improved system performance. Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders, simplifying and explaining concepts to gain their understanding and support. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks in infrastructure projects, ensuring minimal disruption and issues. Manage project budgets, track and control costs, and achieve financial efficiency. Implement continuous improvement practices in infrastructure management to increase efficiency and achieve cost savings. Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure successful delivery of services and cost efficiencies. Taking ownership of infrastructure problems and working proactively to respond and resolve issues within the organisation and to provide suitable infrastructure solutions whilst working with the Technology Teams to create IT solutions that meet the needs of the IT Directorate and organisation. Governance: Ensure compliance with security policies, governance frameworks and regulatory requirements e.g Cyber Security, GDPR, NCSC etc) Skills And Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent through qualifications, accredited prior learning, or relevant experience. Extensive experience in cloud technologies, networking, data centres, and voice infrastructure. Proven track record in management roles, demonstrating leadership and responsibility. Strong background in managing performance and service delivery, leading organisational development, driving change, and fostering innovation. Stakeholder and Vendor Management: Demonstrated experience in managing third-party vendors, optimising IT contracts, and maintaining accountability for budgets and resource allocation. Strategic Implementation: Skilled in translating strategic direction into actionable plans and delivering measurable outcomes. Excellent communication and influencing abilities across various platforms and audiences. Strong capability in leading innovation and change initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and high performance.
