Job Summary
The post holder will support the assurance and compliance of the Trust's Medical Workforce against contractual standards set by NHS England. The role takes responsibility for specific areas of work within medical workforce particularly relating to rota compliance. The post holder will ensure generation, distribution and compliance of reports relating to rota design and compliance and that all rotas meet medical terms and conditions and safety standards. The role will liaise with the Guardian of Safe Working and raise any issues regarding safe working hours.
Responsibilities
* Provide varied and complex information to Care Groups and managers on operational Medical Workforce issues, ensuring Trust policies and national terms and conditions for doctors are adhered to.
* Ensure rotas are compliant with Resident Doctor terms and conditions and that all rotas are included on e‑rota and kept up to date.
* Provide training and access to exception reporting for all relevant resident doctors.
* Design and produce Resident Doctor generic work schedules in line with Resident Doctor terms and conditions and codes of practice.
* Co‑ordinate the development of complex rotas for medical and dental staff, ensuring compliance with Resident Doctor terms and conditions, and that e‑rota is maintained.
* Maintain and archive old rotas and keep working rotas in the live section of e‑rota.
* Provide advice to group managers, consultants and Resident Doctors on best practice for Resident Doctor rotas and liaise with recruitment and selection team members regarding rota changes that need to be reflected in job descriptions, contracts and databases.
* Respond to queries for less than full time trainees and design a rota reflecting an appropriate LTFT working pattern, completing LTFT paperwork and liaising with LTFT doctors and group managers.
* Ensure any rota changes are updated on e‑rota, new work schedules produced and new contracts of employment issued as required.
* Assist in board reports by providing information and data to the Guardian of Safe Working.
* Recruit and select medical staff and manage employee relations queries particularly relating to rotas.
* Provide advice on implications of proposals to change rotas and any impact on compliance and education/training requirements.
